In a time in which the ideas of the Surrealists became reality, Giger invented the biomechanoids. In 1968 he created his silk screen print series called Biomechanoids. For Giger the biomechanoids reflected a harmonious mix of techniques, mechanics and the creature. Giger created primitive arm-leg-monsters and provided them with sensors and all kind of technical intestines like they were robots. He developed this 3-limb construction in 1963. The final result was a series op paintings. |
