In 1985 Giger was asked to design several scenes for the movie Poltergeist II. He rather
had worked on the production of the Alien II movie, but he was informed about this production too late. The contract regarding Poltergeist was
already signed. Giger was not satisfied with the story of the movie nor with the way the special effects were carried out.
