These sculptures of holy man can be found on the northern entrance of the Cathetral of Chartres, France. , They were build between werden gemaakt 1132 and 1240. Although this is a Romaine sculpture, the beginning of the gothic period is visible. These sculptures are more lively and more natural than the sculptures from the early Romaine period. The figures are more separate and standing freeer from the back. In the romaine style this would not be the case.
