In january 1987, after a long period of preparation, nearly 2 tons of exhibition-material was shiped to Tokyo. The collection contained theme's from the movies Alien and Poltergeist II as well as other original versions. 50 Paintings in total were exhibited. Especially for this occasion Giger made a series of paintings which he called Japanese Excursion. In february all material was assembled and positioned under Giger his supervision. The Seed Hall of the Seibu Museum of Art is enormous and therefore the work came out perfect. The exhibition caused a true Giger-boom and even a fanclub was established. |
